WebClip2Go to Launch Knowledge Clip at OEB 2022
Will build upon growing recognition of innovative, crewless production system
Press Release
Veenendaal, The Netherlands _ 24 October, 2022
WebClip2Go – an offshoot of Dutch-based Burst Video – will be exhibiting at the OEB 2022 in Germany (Stand B50). Building on their success from last year, they will focus again on showing educators how quickly, easily and cost-effectively video content can be introduced into learning. At the classroom level they will be outlining to teachers how video significantly enhances the learning experience of students, whilst at the administrative level they will be showing how the integration of a full mini production studio into a university setting provides significant competitive advantage; allowing the university to offer flexible, hybrid and remote learning, leverage maximum value from their knowledge resources, teachers and experts, meet the needs and expectations of their students, and position themselves as an educational brand of global repute.
With education one of the key (though not exclusive) markets to which WebClip2Go positions themselves, the OEB (Online Educa Berlin) is a highlight of the annual tradeshow calendar. With a global, cross-sector reach, OEB provides an opportunity for educators to explore the latest developments in learning technology, learning from experts through conference attendance and tradeshow demonstrations.
Of particular interest at OEB 2022 will be WebClip2Go’s focus on ‘knowledge clip’ production; quick, bitesize explanations of complex concepts that students can access as supplementary content to clarify their learning. Furthermore, when configured according to the Live switching setup, tutors can create a one-to-one Q&A ‘interview clip’, which allows students to explore issues in more depth. These provide a more naturalistic, dialectical way to engage with the subject matter – analogous with TV talk-shows in their style, making them more engaging and entertaining for students used to chat show and podcast-style content. Regardless of configuration, WebClip2Go allows teachers to deliver and record these videos using a range of automated processes which eliminate the need for any crew at all. This includes voice-activated control of the full system; from start to finish, with every prompt and transition in-between triggered by audio prompts or pre-set conditions.
WebClip2Go will be demonstrating their unique approach to video production, which eliminates the need for post-production editing and allows teachers to create multiple videos in a fraction of the time, simply by delivering their lesson to camera in front of a green screen. Despite still representing a remarkably innovative product on the market, WebClip2Go’s increasing visibility means that it has now become a well-established name in the educational sector, with multiple installations (as many as five at some institutions) at universities such as Delft university, KU Leuven, Rotterdam, and Groningen.
And whilst the ability of the WebClip2Go system to output videos instantly – rendered in real time – is based on a system which leverages high-powered hardware to obtain maximum operational efficiency, the focus of the booth demonstration will be on how little technical knowledge is needed to use the system. Its intuitive workflow and straightforward GUI – along with PowerPoint integration, which allows teachers to manage the full production process using only a PowerPoint project – mean that users can be up-and-running with just a few hours of training. The small footprint of the studio also makes it remarkably flexible in terms of installation possibilities.
Talking of the growing recognition of their product in the educational market, Gerrit Bulten – CEO of WebClip2Go – said: “It doesn’t just make good business sense to improve student outcomes, it’s a moral imperative for all educators. And study after study has highlighted the importance of visual learning; many students improve their academic outcomes dramatically when content is delivered to them in a way that matches their learning style, and which can be watched at a student’s own pace. We foresaw the introduction of knowledge clips as an important educational tool based on our decades of TV experience, and we’re now able to make them accessible to all”.
He continued: “More than this, we help educators widen access to education. Facilitating remote learning and creating reusable resources which can lower the overall cost of education whilst maximising reach is a direction that all universities should be heading in. WebClip2Go represents a key tool in achieving this goal”.
