WebClip2Go Add Auto Power Feature
to improve the security and energy efficiency of its all-in-one studio

In another of a progressive series of additional options and upgrades to the WebClip2Go system driven by customer consultation and feedback, WebClip2Go have added an automated power-on/off functionality which improves the security, energy efficiency and usability of the platform.
WebClip2Go represents an all-in-one studio and editing technology which simplifies and front-loads much of the traditional film-then-edit process, automating a number of steps to make the process significantly faster in a way that allows for one-person production of a video, without the need for a studio crew and without the need for professional editing experience. Moreover, all of this is available at a fraction of the cost of traditional studio set-ups.This means that teachers, retailers, corporate video creators – indeed, a practically limitless set of users – can now create professional-level present-to-camera video to support their organizational activities.
In the most recent system add-on, one button can now initiate all elements of the studio – including lights, teleprompt and cameras, as well as booting the computers. The same trigger can then be used to power down the system without the need for the user to wait.
The feature is more than a mere convenience. Many WebClip2Go installations are accessed by ‘public’ groups; for instance, in universities where teachers and students will be making use of the studio and computers throughout the day. The use of an auto power facility ensures that the valuable components of the system can be locked away and thus safe from interference.
Moreover, the single button can be combined with any form of access mechanism, or even automated. This means that access to the studio – and power up – can be triggered by keycard, passcode or biometric entry, and/or combined with an allocated schedule of use, ensuring that only the people with clearance or a booking are able to gain access to the system at any given time.
Further benefits come from a resource efficiency perspective, because the addition of an auto power function conserves energy and manpower; particularly important in an age where clients are keen to demonstrate higher levels of corporate social responsibility and sustainable practice, and also where IT staff are increasingly working on a remote basis.
